I joined Automattic in 2005. I have led and contributed to development of many core features including rich editing, widgets, attachments, rewrite, wpdb. Plugins I maintain include Stats, HyperDB, and Batcache. On WordPress.com, I am responsible for the firehoses and the instant messaging service im.wordpress.com which delivers subscription notifications in real time.

I live on three acres of Texas hill country land with my wife, our daughter, and our pets.
